Kingsport, Johnson City and Bristol form Tennessee’s Tri-Cities area -- sandwiched between Virginia and North Carolina -- within the Appalachians, north of the Cherokee National Forest. In Bristol, the Joe Morrell Grand Guitar stands three stories tall and is patterned after a Martin as the world’s only guitar-shaped music museum. Kingsport boasts assorted national landmarks and attractions, including bed and breakfasts on the National Register of Historic Places.
